Storm victims who have lost everything in North Carolina are facing cold weather soon. A local effort to provide coats for them is underway, and donations are needed by this Friday, Oct. 11, to be included in the shipment being planned.
Amanda Page has made arrangements with Pastor Wayne Stafford of Pilgrims Way Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, N.C., who will receive the donated coats and distribute them to those in need in the storm-ravaged area.
“Please go through your and/or your kids closets and gather any gently used coats/jackets you don't wear any more,” said Page in a recent Facebook post. “I will wash everything that's collected and ship via UPS to the church.”
In Monticello, coats need to be dropped off by Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10, or lunchtime on Friday, Oct. 11, at It's Personal, located at 230 W. Washington St.
