Dorothy Jane Grantham, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 24, 2021, in Tallahassee, Fla. She was born on Oct. 23, 1939, in Georgetown, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Demaris. Dorothy had five siblings, including three sisters and two brothers: Patricia, Joyce, and Carolyn, and Elbert and Dale.
Dorothy graduated from high school in Jacksonville, Fla. and moved to Tallahassee where she got married and raised her three children before going to work with the State of Florida. Dorothy retired from the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles after 22 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Patricia Rudd (E.W.) and Joyce Demaris; and two brothers: Elbert Long and Dale Demaris. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Carolyn Collins (Travis); her three children: Curtis Grantham (Ruby), Marcus Grantham, and Mary Ann Schawall (Ronnie); grandchildren: Justin, Joshua, Jenna, and Jeffery Grantham, Tyler Champion, Monica Johnson (Colby), and Garrett Schawall; three great-grandchildren: Kaylee and Carman Champion, and Deven Schawall; a niece, Leslea Manning; and nephews: Ashley Collins and Mike Rudd (Candy).
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2021, at Beth Page Cemetery, 379 E. Beth Page Rd., Monticello, Fla. 32344. Arrangements by Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St., Monticello, Fla. 32344.
