On Thursday, June 2, Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies responded to Wirik Street and Ash Street, in Monticello, in an attempt to locate a subject with an outstanding Jefferson County Warrant.
Upon arrival at the apartment complex, deputies observed several subjects under a tent in the corner of the complex yard. As deputies approached, they observed two subjects, who were carrying backpacks, rushing towards a car that was parked near the deputies. As the subjects neared the car, the deputies saw
the subjects toss their backpacks under the car. One subject then fled on foot, while the other attempted to hide behind the vehicle.
The subject hiding behind the vehicle was captured and identified as Chaddrick Black.
After seizing both backpacks, a search was conducted and approximately 164 grams of marijuana, 28 grams of crack cocaine, 12 grams of powder cocaine and items consistent with drug sales were found inside them.
Chaddrick Black was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Officer without Violence.
Upon being booked into the Jefferson County Jail, Chaddrick Black posted bond.
