Eagles’ Nest seeks to honor founders

The Monticello Eagles’ Nest, the building for all scouts and other youth organizations, located on American Legion property on South Water Street, will be honoring its founders – those persons and entities that made it happen. In 1996, when the National Guard Armory, where the scouts had been meeting was closing, the community came together to build the Eagles’ Nest totally with volunteer help and donations. To honor those who did this, a plaque with their names will be placed on the building.
A problem in accomplishing this is that the files from then appear to be lost. So, a group has used their collective memories to attempt to reconstruct a list of th
