Eastern part of county to get better cell phone service

In a recent meeting that lasted mere minutes, the Jefferson County Planning Commission approved a 235-foot telecommunications tower on a property near Frank Lacy Road and East Washington Highway on the east side of the county.
The applicant was Tillman Infrastructure of New York, whose anchor tenant on the tower will be AT&T Wireless.
According to AT&T Mobility principal engineer Frank Tagliani, who did an analysis of the company’s desired coverage in the area, the property was identified as being optimal for the capacity enhancement needed within the county.
