
Ecological Park in need of major repairs

The past several years have been wrought with significant bouts of severe weather, from major hurricanes to historic winter snow storms. Many Florida residents are struggling to keep up, as home gardens struggle to continuously bounce back from the stress, and properties accumulate years of damage to trees,
structures and landscaping. Back-to-back storms can make it easy for debris to pile up before a homeowner or business has a chance to clear it, and for the Monticello Ecological Park, this has placed the old-growth forest in dire straits.
Hurricane Debby crashed into the park in August of 2024, causing many trees to fall, some blocking the trails
