Encouraged to endure

Rev. Cheryl Cruce Columnist I have discovered that everything in life can teach us a lesson. The question is, are we willing to learn? For example, my son, Michael, decided on a career change and enrolled in classes to become a firefighter. With a wife, a young daughter at home and a full-time job that demanded much of his time, the journey became one of perseverance. Every evening, he faithfully attended classes, studied late into the night and pushed himself through endless hours of preparation. His days were long, and his nights were short, but he kept his eyes on the goal before him. The final step in Michael’s journey was a grueling endurance test. It involved physical challe
