
Ethics Commission finds probable cause against Reams

The Florida Commission on Ethics (FCOE) last week issued its finding on an ethics complaint filed against former Jefferson County Clerk of Court Kirk Reams, who was convicted of grand theft in August 2024 and is serving time in prison.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, March 12, the commission stated that probable cause had been found to believe that Reams “abused his position to obtain a disproportionate benefit and misused his position when he used county funds for political contributions, personal endeavors, non-county-related activities and unauthorized expenditures.”
