The Monticello Community Prayer Breakfast had its Oct. 5 gathering at First Baptist Church Monticello. At 7 a.m. Gary Wright welcomed 72 people to the event, noting that Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them." Pastor Sean Vickers offered a blessing, and a delicious breakfast buffet of eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy and pancakes was enjoyed by all.
The program began with Mike Grisham of Gideons International leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “The Longer I Serve Him.” There was time for anyone in attendance to announce upcoming community event
