Community members, students, parents and staff at Jefferson Somerset are being extended an invitation to attend the school's Student Government Association's 2019 Inaugural President's Gala, which will be held on Friday, February 8.
This event will be held in the cafeteria on the school's campus, located at 50 David Road, in Monticello, and will last from 7:30-10 p.m.
The theme for this event will be “The Beginning of the End,” which signifies the beginning of a new and improved outlook towards to ever-progressing educational gains of Jefferson's students, as well as the end of the negativity and false impressions that have long plagued the county's educational system.
Those who attend will be helping to recognize and celebrate the hardworking and dedicated students at Jefferson Somerset as they rise to every challenge placed before them.
This event will also honor the administrative staff, teachers and faculty who continue to provide a positive role in building Jefferson County's educational system into a system to be proud of.
Enjoy an evening with the community as the Student Government Association celebrates students and staff alike.
There will be a three-course meal, live entertainment and a chance to win great gifts and prizes.
This will be a night like no other at Jefferson Somerset, a night to remember, and a night to set the tone for years ahead as the school continues to improve the educational prospects of Jefferson County's students and communities.
“Everyone is working so hard to make improvements and grow together,” writes a press release issued by the school. “This is only the beginning of greater things to come in the years ahead and this event is about looking forward. The theme for the school this year has been Rising To The Challenge and midway through the school year, we can stop to recognize and celebrate all those students and staff alike who are Rising To The Challenge every single day at Jefferson Somerset.”
This will be a ticketed event, and Jerald Cheeseborough, faculty liaison to the Student Government Association, stresses the importance of purchasing tickets early before this prestigious and celebratory event sells out!
For this event, student tickets for grades 2-5 will cost $15; student tickets for grades 5-12 will cost $20 but for two tickets, a special deal of $30 will be offered.
There will be special ticket rates offered for Jefferson Somerset teams and organizational clubs.
A single adult ticket will cost $25, but those who purchase more than one ticket will receive a two for $35 deal.
Senior citizen tickets will cost $10 and tickets for Jefferson Somerset faculty and staff will be $15.
Students in grades 2-5 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
For this event, semi-formal attire is required.
This means men must wear a suit or colored button-up shirt with dress pants or slacks (no jeans).
A tie is optional, but dress shoes must be worn (no sneakers).
For ladies, event attire may include a semi-formal gown or dress with dress shoes. Attending ladies are asked to not wear any attire that is revealing.
