Final hearing on solar ordinance postponed

At its regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 5, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners held its first hearing on a proposed ordinance regarding solar “farms.” Three versions of a solar ordinance were available for discussion, including a new “alternative” ordinance put forth by District 4 Commissioner Stephen Walker. Walker repeatedly stated that he wanted an ordinance that aligned closely with state law in order to avoid potential legal challenges in the future.
