Fire Prevention Week 2024 “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you”

Since 1922, the United States and Canada have recognized the week of Oct. 9 (specifically the Sunday through Saturday that encompasses Oct. 9 each year) as National Fire Prevention Week, which is sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). It is the longest-running public health observance in American history, and it is designed to educate citizens on how to protect themselves and their loved ones in the event of a fire, which can greatly decrease the amount of fire-related casualties that occur each year.
