Flea Across Florida provides treasures galore

On the weekend of April 12-13, the State of Florida collectively participated in a coast-to-coast sale event, known as Flea Across Florida. Despite the name, the event has nothing to do with bugs, but follows the model of what is known as a flea market, an open-air rummage sale. This event is held twice a year, typically in the spring and fall. Floridians gather along the 275-mile stretch of U.S. Hwy. 90, including citizens from as far away as Live Oak to Pensacola. Vendors set up tables and booths along the side of the road to sell items they no longer need, including furniture, motor parts, books, old clothing, home décor, artwork and collectibles.
