The final day of Public Health Week is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating staff. The Florida Department of Health in Jefferson and Madison counties proudly acknowledges the expertise, commitment and resilience of our Health Officer/Administrator, Kimberly Allbritton.

Ms. Allbritton was appointed the administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Jefferson and Madison counties in June 2017. Prior to this appointment, she served as the interim administrator from July 2012 until January 2016. While serving in this role, she also held the position of operations and management consultant manager.
Her career in public service reflects extensive leadership experience across long-term care, education and public health. Ms. Allbritton actively contributes to her community through service on multiple boards and committees. She was appointed by former Surgeon General Dr. Celeste Philip to serve on the Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Big Bend Health Care Coalition, the Jefferson and Madison County Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Boards and the Third Circuit Child Abuse Death Review Committee.
In 2020, she was named North Florida College’s 2020 Friend to the College. This award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in helping the college fulfill its mission of providing service and opportunity to its students and community.
Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing impactful initiatives throughout Jefferson and Madison counties. These include the installation of exercise and playground equipment in local parks to promote healthy lifestyles, the implementation of food locker programs at both DOH-Jefferson and DOH-Madison to address food insecurity, and close collaboration with the WIC program to ensure continued access to food following the closure of Winn-Dixie locations.
The staff of DOH-Jefferson and DOH-Madison are proud to serve under Ms. Allbritton’s leadership and are grateful for her continued dedication to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
