Floyd “Edward” Register passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the age of 79. He was born in Graceville, Fla. on October 30, 1940. He later resided in Madison, Fla. for 29 years and then moved to Monticello, Fla. in 1998. Ed was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He served in the U.S. Army and was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office.
Ed is survived by his wife, Brenda Register; his son, Wendell Edward Register; his daughter, Linda Kay La Ferriere; his sister, Shirley Faglie; his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Thelma Register; his sisters: Ora Blanche Shiver and Eva Gray Williams; and his son, Robert Joseph Register.
A visitation was held at Beggs Funeral Home at 485 E. Dogwood St., in Monticello, on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 6:30-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Elizabeth Baptist Church at 4124 Bassett Dairy Rd., in Monticello, on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. A military honors interment will follow at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church.
