Forest Service gives away trees on Florida Arbor Day

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. On Florida Arbor Day, local and regional leaders of the Florida Forest Service held a tree giveaway in the parking lot of Tractor Supply in Monticello. A variety of trees were offered, including live oaks, red oaks, red maples, red buds and slash pines. “We're celebrating Arbor Day today,” said Joe Vanderwerff, Jr., a regional coordinator. “It's always the third Friday in January.
