Franklin Academy graduates one from detention center

Franklin Academy Contributor Franklin Academy Executive Director Margaret Lawson Dobbins Franklin proudly conferred a high school diploma upon Torrell Hepburn from the school's pace program on Thursday, April 24, at the Jefferson County Detention Center, where he has been housed for the past three years during processing of his Leon County case. It was a day of great rejoicing, relief and total euphoria for Torrell Hepburn, age 18, as he celebrated this critical rite of passage, with his classmates being encouraged to keep working hard to reach their own graduation day. Franklin Academy also congratulates this young man despite the odds. Hepburn was in a pace program for three years
