Lisa Hayes, OMC Manager for the Florida Department of Health in Jefferson County announces that her agency is conducting free COVID-19 testing during the month of September. The next testing site and date is at the R.J. Bailar Public Library, 375 S. Water St., in Monticello, on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 8 to 11 a.m.
“Our continuing goal is to test two percent of the population each month,” she shares. “No signs or symptoms are needed to be tested, and no appointment is needed. Children can be tested with a parent or guardian present.”
The testing process is to stay inside your vehicle and a member of the nursing staff will perform the COVID-19 testing, at the time and location mentioned. Testing dates are subject to change due to inclement weather.
Antibody testing and rapid testing will not be available at this testing site. Test results will be available within three days.
If you are sick, call the health department at (850) 342-0170 or (850) 879-0683, for testing directions.
