Front Page News: Liberal Gun Laws Don’t Work

In a February 5, 2025 story, the Monticello News online edition’s front page talked about the arrest of a convicted felon that had stolen a gun and then used it against the person from whom he had stolen it. Thanks to our excellent Sheriff’s Office and JCI K-9s, he was located and arrested without further incident. Two things in this story were significant to me: 1. He had stolen the gun, and, 2. He was a convicted felon, and due to this, unable to legally obtain a gun.
