Has your child outgrown a coat recently? Or do you have a coat you're just not wearing much anymore? You can help put that coat across the shoulders of someone who needs its warmth.
To support the students at Jefferson County K-12 Community Partnership School, Jamia Bradley is currently collecting donations of gently used or new coats, plus other winter wear such as scarves, socks and gloves. Bradley wants every child at the school to receive a winter clothing item. This means that around 750 coats and other items need to be collected!
Donations are being accepted now until Sunday, Nov. 30. They can be dropped at the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce office, located at 420 W. Washington St. Anyone who needs to arrange for items to be picked up can contact Bradley at (850) 242-1560.
Distribution to students is expected to take place on campus before they have their winter break. Any items not distributed then will go into the Tiger Closet for future use as needed.
