George Franklin Floyd III passed away peacefully June 29, 2021, at his home in Waukeenah. Frank was born in the same house on March 12, 1943. He graduated from Jefferson High School, where he excelled in football and baseball, later playing baseball while attending North Florida Junior College.
After college, became a farmer like his father and grandfather before him, raising cattle, watermelons, pecans and timber. Throughout his life he took great pleasure in socializing and helping his neighbors. Frank never travelled far from Jefferson County, since he firmly believed that all the best people in the world lived there.
Frank is survived by his son: George Franklin Floyd IV (Amanda); daughters: Felicia Lamb (James) and Elizabeth Faith Floyd (Brian); grandson: James Meigs Lamb, Jr.; granddaughter: Emma Leigh Nell Floyd; brother: William Robert Floyd (Susie); and nieces: Mary Ann Folsom and Cheyenne Floyd.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 2, 2021, at Waukeenah UMC Cemetery, in Waukeenah at 10 a.m.
