While you and your families are huddled around the fire this Christmas, some are not so lucky. The animals at the Jefferson County Humane Society (JCHS) are all searching for a place to call home for the holidays with their very own family.
Although the dogs and cats at the humane society are well taken care of by the volunteers and staff, staying at the shelter is not the same as having a home to call your own. These dogs are loving, playful and energetic, and there is one to fit every family.
Instead of buying a new puppy for your family this year, consider adopting a dog from JCHS. Adopting an adult dog means giving them the second chance they deserve. Before you adopt or purchase any dog, remember, a dog is a commitment, not a one-time gift.
Below are just a few of the dogs available for adoption at JCHS. For more information, visit JCHS at 2123 E. Washington, in Monticello, or call (850) 342-0244.
