On Jan. 10, 2021, the world lost a great man who inspired so many with his kind words and his big ol smile. Glenn Carlton Davis “Popps”, 67, passed away after his long battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Glenn was born on March 15, 1953, in Lamont, Fla. to Ada Bell and VJ Davis. He was a legend in Jefferson County both on the football field and with the ladies. He was a member of Lamont Baptist Church. To all who knew Glenn, they knew he was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Glenn loved singing karaoke, was an avid fisherman and dedicated spending all the time he could with his children and grandchildren. Glenn was retired from the Florida Department of Transportation.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ada Bell and VJ Davis; brothers, Virgil, Donald; and a son.
Glenn is survived by his son Glenn and wife Christi; daughter, Suzanne and husband Brian; son, Curtis, Justin and partner Christie; his twelve grandchildren Taylor, Jake, Brent, Tyson, Jocelyn, Chase, Gabe, Casey, Harlee, Hannah, Kiera, and Brian; and three great-grandchildren, Layne, Ava, and Liam.
A memorial will be held in Glenn’s honor at Lamont Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice.
