Each year, Aucilla Christian Academy Alumni Association hosts fundraising event to benefit the Aucilla Christina Academy (ACA) financial aid program. All financial aid is need-based and currently helps approximately 13 percent of students. The opportunity to provide assistance to allows the ministry to impact more lives for Jesus Christ.
This year, the group hosted Golf for Kids, a golf tournament held at Jefferson Country Club on Oct. 11. More than 60 golfers participated and more than $13,000 was raised. The event started with lunch, provided by Johnston’s Meat Market. Golfers then headed out on the course to play 18 holes; afterwards, they returned to the club house for the announcing of winners and prize distribution. Participants included alumni, parents, grandparents, ACA golf team members and community friends.
There were two flights of teams with the top three teams in each flight awarded prizes. Placing first in Flight A was Matt Cruce and his teammates, which included William Lamb, Brandon Fletcher and JB Wilson. In Flight B, the team sponsored by Danny Everett placed first; team players were Scott Welch, Dick Jarvis, Reggie Wentworth and Michael Albritton. ACA wants to thank all those who played and donated prizes as well as businesses that sponsored holes. ACA is thankful for the community support from Jefferson, Madison, Taylor and surrounding counties.
