Little Pines Pediatrics of Monticello is looking for more local businesses and residents to participate in an initiative that the clinic has recently launched.
The Red Ribbon Mission is a way for locals to send a message of hope during these confusing and frightening times.
Heather Plain, of Little Pines in Monticello, found the mission online and thought it would be great to participate in and bring to Monticello. “Whoever came up with this is a genius. We really need this encouragement right now,” said Plain.
The goal of the mission is to see local residents and businesses hanging red ribbons on their front doors.
The red ribbon, Plain says, is a reminder of God’s faithfulness to protect his people from plagues. The ribbon represents the blood that the Hebrew captives painted on their doorframes during Egypt’s plagues that led to the Hebrew Exodus.
In New Testament terms, it's the blood of Jesus that saves believers from death.
Little Pines is encouraging fellow Christians in Jefferson County to join the Red Ribbon Mission in displaying the ribbons as a reminder of the power of the blood of Jesus - all it takes is hanging a red ribbon over your home or shop’s door as a symbol of hope, healing and protection.
The founders of the project wish to remind everyone that “God is and always will be in control.”
