Saturday, March 2 was the 115th birthday of Dr. Seuss, and what a better way to celebrate than to read? While he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the pages of his books. Dr. Seuss forever changed the way children’s books were written and continues to inspire generations.
So, on March 1 and March 2, the Jefferson Somerset Reading Club read Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss to the pre-k and kindergarten students at their school.
Club members reading to the younger students in the media center on Friday morning included Jamie Moore, Marisa Means, Denise Wing, Naila Hill, Johnathan Youngblood.
The event was also coordinated by School Librarian Joann Jones and Activities Director, Nancy Whitty.
