Ashlyn Morris was born in Tallahassee and raised in Greenville (Madison County). She has always enjoyed taking care of people and listening to their stories. “Helping and just being there for and with people in need is what I love about my job,” she says with excitement and joy.
Morris has been working the night shift at the Honey Lake Clinic for a short time now. It's a job that is close to home and is in her field of expertise. She knew as a child that she wanted to be in the nursing profession, so when she heard that the clinic at Honey Lake was looking to hire, she jumped at the chance.
Morris is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and a direct care technician. Her main role during the night shift is to watch after patients, take vitals and care for any needs that they might have. She reports either to the registered nurses or licensed practical or licensed vocational nurses at the clinic.
When she graduated from high school, Nurse Morris earned her CNA title at the same time in 2012 from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. It was from Abeka Academy, an accredited, comprehensive virtual distance-learning program, that she completed her high school education.
In addition to her CNA training, Morris received certifications in web design, Microsoft and Adobe programs at Pensacola Christian College, a private Independent Baptist liberal arts college.
Morris has two young children and enjoys spending time and traveling with them to the beach when time allows. “I just love spending time at the beach with my toes in the sand,” she giggles.
She has just recently taken up hunting and fishing in her free time with her boyfriend.
