Do you have unneeded gently used or new winter essentials, like coats or scarves, gathering dust in your closet? You can help your community keep warm this winter by donating them during the fifth annual winter coat drive by the United Force of Jefferson County, Inc.
Until Dec. 2, donations may be dropped off at Creative Moments Learning Center, 535 N. Wirick St., for the nonprofit organization to distribute to locals in need. Coats, scarves, socks, gloves, hats and other winter garments in all sizes, both for children and adults, are needed.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, the donated goods will be distributed at the Jefferson County R.J. Bailar Public Library (375 S. Water St.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clothes will be available for free to anyone in need. Note that to pick up clothing for children, a child must be present.
