I read the Letter to the Editor "Masks Don't Work" citing a paper written by a Canadian physicist Denis Rancourt. I decided before I looked up Rancourt I would read the paper, He makes four points mask just don't work, this is a seasonal problem tied to humidity, the particles are too small to be trapped by the mask and it is so contagious that a single exposure can infect you so why bother. He extracts comments made from other studies to support his position. Now I put on my conspiracy theory hat and looked up a few of the studies he references and for the most part he cherry picked paragraphs that when read in context don't support his premise. This is classic conspiracy theory 101 how to create a false narrative that supports your theory. Then I looked up Dr. Denis and it not worth your time or mine to go into how paper after paper debunked this theories and the University fired him.
Now you know where this is going I am going to reference studies and tell you why masks should be worn. No I am going to encourage you to never wear a mask don't let you kids wear a mask congregate in large numbers inside with like-minded people you're doing the rest of us a favor. You see we will all develop immunity to this virus it's so efficient it will snuff itself out. Two ways get vaccinated or get sick. This uptick in Covid cases is a good thing our Governor understands this. You see in a perverse way the sicker you get the healthier it is for the rest of us because you now are immune to the virus and join the rest of us who are vaccinated on the back side of this pandemic. The pandemic has taught me this "My way is not the right way it's just my way. So my way was to wear a mask and get vaccinated your way is to not wear a mask and get sick. I say go for it don't wear a mask get sick and make the rest of us safer.
