The best senior high school football players in north Florida and south Georgia are set to face each other in the annual War of the Border - Senior All-Star Classic, on Friday, Jan. 15.
Each year, seniors are chosen from various high schools in the Big Bend area and south Georgia area to participate in this game. This event is “one last hurrah” for seniors who played high school football.
This year, four Jefferson County seniors will be participating in the event, all playing for the Florida team. Three players from Jefferson-Somerset, JaQuan Coasey, Brian Crumity and Lance Footman, will be taking the field and one player from Aucilla Christian, Jared Grant, will be playing as well.
The game will be taking place at Thomas County Central Football Stadium in Thomasville, Ga., at 6:30 p.m. Admission will cost $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children ages 5 and under will be able to enter for free.
