On Thursday, Sept. 23, the Monticello Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Business Dinner Meeting at Livingston Place, known formerly as Dixie Plantation. The dinner was catered by The Porch on the Green, and the delicious food, cocktails and hors de oeuvres were served by non other than students from the Jefferson County Homeschool Association.
The Homeschool Association has been called upon in numerous occasions to offer their serving services at local Women's Club luncheons, Monticello Opera House events and most recently, the Chamber dinner.
The kids have served as both volunteers and as paid staff, and Homeschool Association President, Tammy Brookins, has been approached by many event planners who are in search of trustworthy, dependable help. The homeschool group of kids has an awesome reputation for showing up and doing an awesome job!
Paisley Crosby (14), Finley Crosby (11), Reid Brookins (14), MadiLynn Boyd (13), Zoey Lee (16), Tre Scott (14), Rani Rae Morgan (22), RJ Morgan (15), Brenden Lee (15), Crickett Lee (12), and Jasmine Perez (14) all participated at the recent Chamber dinner, serving members of their community as they enjoyed the function.
Kudos to the homeschoolers who have taken such care to be responsible, hard-working and dependable assets to their community! Keep up the great work! You guys rock!
