Jefferson County's Abigail Boyd included on list

On Thursday, April 23, North Florida College (NFC) virtually honored 34 students for their outstanding achievement and character during the 2019-2020 academic year.

The video was shared throughout social media platforms to honor the students from NFC's service district. NFC instructors provided remarks as the video highlighted each student and their award.

According to NFC, each student, unaware of the specific recognition awarded until the ceremony's release, submitted photos and information to share about themselves and their educational journey.

“This celebration is a terrific moment of pride for us here at the college,” said NFC President John Grosskopf. “Make an effort to remember the names you [read], because I am certain you will hear them again someday connected to impressive accomplishments and contributions to our society.”

Jefferson/Madison: Abigail Boyd, sociology and creative writing.

Columbia: Madison Wolfe, psychology; Lonnie Thomas Gunn, associate's degree in registered nursing.

Hamilton: Laura Johnson, literature; Joshua Welch, history; James Law, advanced manufacturing and production technology.

Lafayette: Montana Shiver, drawing; Jarrett Pearson, biology; Abigail Martinez, music club; Dawson Jackson, 2019-2020 NFC Student of the Year and chemistry.
