
Huckleberry’s Creations to close after 20 years

When Mo and Donna Skelton retired from their U. S. Postal Service jobs in Missouri and moved to Monticello, Fla., in 2004, they opened a store called Huckleberry's Creations. The “Huckleberry” part of the shop's name was a nod to the Mark Twain character, Huckleberry Finn, and the episodic story of his journey down the Mississippi River, which passes through Missouri on its way southward. The “Creations” part of the business name referred to two furniture builders they knew in Missouri who would be creating custom furniture for the Skeltons' customers in Monticello.
