Hurricane Center changing way it reports storms – Extremely active 2024 season expected

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is reported to be experimenting with new graphics for the coming hurricane season, which some early forecasts are already indicating will be a potentially supercharged one due to the return of La Niña and record warm water temperatures across the Atlantic Ocean.
The changes that the NHC will implement will largely apply to the cone of uncertainty, also called the “cone of concern” and “cone of death.” Traditionally, the cone of uncertainty has shown the probable path of a tropical storm or hurricane, as well as the approximate time of landfall and the coastal areas that will be impacted in terms of surge
