Hurricane debris removal effort is winding down Contractor making a last sweep

The county recently received a budget infusion of $5,250,000 in unanticipated revenues, funds attributable to reimbursements for monies expended in the monitoring and removal of the debris left by the recent rash of hurricanes.
The Jefferson County Commission approved the supplemental budget increase at the request of County Manager Shannon Metty and Budget Officer Gus Rojas on Thursday morning, Dec. 5.
The money, which came from the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM), was earmarked specifically for hurricane debris monitoring and removal.
