Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Elizabeth Baptist Church (EBC) this summer was themed: 'In the Wild', and began on Sunday evening June 9 with registration.
Every evening was kicked-off with registration, Monday through Thursday, before the 'Wild' program of fun games, crafts, snack time, a Bible lesson and music to give everybody an opportunity to worship God and dance a little.
Special offerings were collected each night to benefit the Florida Baptist Children's home; with the boys and the girls competing for 'Offering Champions'.
The boys won!
Each night, there were special drawings for prizes. For every child in attendance, their name was put into a drawing. For every visitor a registered child brought in, their name was entered into the drawing for more opportunities to win. This was very exciting for the children; it allowed them to bring their friends to hear about Jesus and the possibility to win more fun gifts. An average of 40 children attended each night.
Thursday evening was family night. The registered children invited their loved ones to join them in songs and in the final offering. It also allowed for them to showcase their excitement from the week. Light snacks and soft drinks were enjoyed by all and Tallahassee Museum representatives brought an exhibit of animals, including an owl and a baby alligator, for everybody to see and touch, as well as discuss and answered questions. It was a fun time to see some real-live animals up close in a safe environment. There were 90 children and adults attending on this night.
