This year, Independence Day (July 4) falls on a Saturday.
In preparation for the holiday weekend, several county and city offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, giving their employees an extra day to spend with their families, celebrating American freedom.
If you need to dispose of your household garbage, pay a bill at the tax collectors or contact city hall – be sure to get all that business done on Thursday, July 2 – otherwise, you will have to wait until the following Monday morning.

Property Appraiser's Office
Will be closed on Friday, July 3
for the holiday weekend.

Will be closed on Friday, July 3
for the holiday weekend.
Monticello City Hall
Will be closed on Friday, July 3. Additionally, the city's trash
pick-up service will not be
running on that day.
Jefferson County offices
All offices will be closed
on Friday, July 3.
Garbage collection sites
All collection sites around the county will be closed on Friday,
July 3. Although, the sites will continue to permit citizens to
walk-up and dispose of their household waste, the large
drive-through gates will be
closed on Friday.
United States Postal Service
The USPS says that all
post offices will remain
open on Friday,
July 3, although hours may
be shortened on Friday.
There will be no mail delivery
on Saturday, July 4.
