Interim Clerk of Court appointed

On Thursday, Sept. 21, J.C O'Steen was appointed Interim Clerk of Court for Jefferson County, following Kirk Reams' arrest on Wed, Sept. 20, on charges of fraud and grand theft involving hundreds of thousands of taxpayers dollars. Ream was subsequently suspended from his position as Clerk of Court by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
O'Steen has practiced law for over 40 years, including 30 years working full-time as a Certified Court Mediator. Before accepting the position as Interim Clerk, he worked at a private law practice in Tallahassee that specialized in personal injury/wrongful death cases, probate, real estate, civil litigation and governmental law.
