Is it 2026 or 1984?

George Orwell in 1949 published a book entitled 1984 wherein he warned against massive government surveillance, both outside and inside the home. This was prior to most homes having a television and well before cell phones. In this society, set only 35 years in the future, the government- a one-party rule system- kept tabs on citizens via several means. The party in power (there were no other choices) kept tabs on everyone through virtually uninterrupted surveillance. What does this have to do
