Jail museum may be reopening for public tours

It’s only an idea so far, but if things work out, the historic jail at the west end of Dogwood Street may be reopening for tours under the auspices of the Jefferson County Home Schoolers Association (JCHSA). The Jefferson County Commission, at least, has approved the exploration of the idea and referred it to staff and legal counsel to work out the details with the association for a possible presentation to the board sometime in the future.
