James Harold Dyal

James Harold Dyal, age 77 of Alma, Ga., passed away peacefully April 15, 2025, in Tallahassee, Fla., surrounded by his family. He was born on June 9, 1947, in Alma, Ga., and at a young age his family relocated to Miccosukee, Fla., near Jefferson County, and was raised on plantations where his father worked in the area. He graduated from Leon High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966. After serving in the Vietnam War as a mortarman and tactical employment squad leader, he received the Purple Heart and was discharged honorably in 1968.
