Jason Welty appointed as new Jefferson County Clerk of the Court

Lazaro Aleman ECB Publishing, Inc. Jefferson County has a new interim Clerk of Court. He is Jason Welty, appointed by the governor late last week and sworn into office by Circuit Judge Dawn Caloca-Johnson on Monday evening, Nov. 13. A graduate of Hanover College with a BA in political science and a master’s in public affairs from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, Welty comes to the clerk’s job with a lengthy resume of public service in Florida government since 2005.
