The Jefferson County Youth Council, a nonprofit organization chaired by Gladys Roann-Watson, has for many years applied for and received grants to support field trips for students attending Jefferson County Schools. The most recent grant, in the amount of $25,000 from The Louise H. and David S. Ingalls Foundation, was received in late 2024 and is now available for teachers to access throughout 2025, with a limit of $2,000 per teacher.
When awarding the grant, Dr. Barbara Brown, president of the Foundation, said, “This grant is to support programs that will enhance the academic and cultural experiences of K-12 children in Monticello.”
