JCSO responds to potential bomb threat

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. Early Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, an email containing a bomb threat was received by seven school districts across the Big Bend area. These schools included Madison, Suwannee, Lafayette, Taylor, Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties. While Jefferson County schools were not listed in the targeted counties, each of the counties surrounding Jefferson had all been mentioned in the email. As a precautionary measure, Jefferson County Sheriff Mac McNeill responded immediately, working with deputies and school staff to search both Jefferson K-12 and Aucilla Christian Academy, as a precautionary safety measure, in the hopes of clearing both schools of any potenti
