NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) will conduct a Special Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, in the County Commission Chambers located at the Courthouse Annex, 435 West Walnut Street, Monticello, Florida, for the purpose of discussing matters and issues related to the special legislative session called by the Governor on May 27, 2026, to consider a proposed constitutional amendment that would increase the homestead property tax exemption to $250,000 and calls for a schedule for full elimination of property taxes on homestead property through general law.
All interested persons are invited to attend and participate in the above-described Special Meeting.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
