Jefferson County provides safe child exchange zones

Hailey Heseltine ECB Publishing, Inc. On July 1, House Bill 385 went into effect. This bill requires that all sheriff's offices provide safe child exchange zones in their respective counties. Safe child exchange zones are designated safe spaces for child custody exchanges, usually in the form of either a parking space or entire area. These spaces must be under 24/7 surveillance to ensure that the custody exchange process is completely monitored, therefore providing protection from liability for all parties involved.
