Jefferson County says farewell to County Commissioner Stephen Walker

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. On Friday, Nov. 3, the community of Jefferson County said a somber farewell to Stephen Walker, a gentle and caring man who was loved, known and cherished by many. His funeral procession made its way slowly through Monticello, accompanied by Jefferson County Fire Rescue, Jefferson County Sheriff Office, county vehicles, and a long line of civilians. That morning, Stephen Walker took his last circle around the Courthouse of the town he loved, his hometown, the place he grew up and called home, and where he spent the last 12+ years serving the people of this remarkable county.
