Jefferson Democrats to hold Chili Cook Off

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. Local chefs will be showcasing their best chili recipes in the first ever Chili Cook Off sponsored by the Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee. The free event takes place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Monticello Opera House, located at 185 W. Washington St. The committee invites all Democrats, NPAs and Undecideds to come hungry and sample each tempting pot. Then cast a ballot to choose the winner. The evening includes the opportunity to meet and hear from Jason Pizzo, the next Florida Senate Democratic Party Leader. He was unanimously selected for this role by his legislative peers and will assume the responsibilities after the 2024
