When he was a young man, Jerome proudly served with the U.S. Army. He liked working on cars and was a self-employed auto mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching television, mowing the lawn and engaging in outdoor activities. He had a fantastic sense of humor; the way his whole face lit up when he laughed will always be treasured.

Survivors include his sons: John Peel (Nancy), of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Daniel J. Peel (Margie), of Lamont, Fla.; and Floyd Peel, of Monticello, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
