Gray Logging, LLC, of Madison County, was recently awarded Florida Logger of the Year for 2020 by the Florida Forestry Association. The annual event was held at the Omni Resort, in Amelia Island, Fla., in September. Jerry Gray was very proud to accept this honor. Carlton Jones, President of the Association stated, "Jerry Gray, manager of Gray Logging, LLC, in Madison, embodies the essence of logging at its best. He is known for his extensive knowledge of the industry, his strict adherence to professional practices, and his passion for the industry. All of those qualities are reflected through his outreach and education efforts in his local area."
Gray Logging, LLC, now goes on to compete for the 2021 Southeastern Regional Logger of the Year. Gray and his company will be competing against state loggers from the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Eastern Virginia. He has high hopes of winning this title and honor and competing for the 2021 National Logger of the Year.
Ten years ago, Gray Logging, LLC, was awarded the 2010 Florida Logger of the Year in 2011, Southeastern Regional Logger of the Year, and Gray placed second for the 2011 National Logger of the Year.
Gray is a 2nd generational logger, growing up in the business under his father, W.C. Gray. Jerry, himself, has been servicing folks in the tree industry for the last 42 years. Gray is proud to be a logger that services not only Madison County, but Jefferson County as well, and all other surrounding counties. He would like to thank everyone for the opportunities that have been given to him to harvest the area timber.
